Our approach

We create interiors that resonate - spaces that feel considered, and work quietly in everyday life. We begin with clarity: understanding how a home needs to function before deciding how it should feel.

Ours is a holistic, design-led process. We consider layout, materials, furniture, lighting and the finishing details together from the outset. So every decision supports the whole, and nothing feels added as an afterthought. It is in the detail that a home truly comes together. The position of a socket, the weight of a curtain, the final styling of a shelf.

Holding the whole vision means holding every layer of it, shaped around the way you live: the internal layout, the architectural detailing, the lighting that makes the most of each room, and the styling that completes it. Usually these are separate people. Here they are one - and that one person stays with your home from the first conversation to the last detail.

Much of the work sits with us, rather than with you. We narrow the many possible options to a clear, edited set of choices, coordinate the detail across every room, and hold the whole vision together. That spares you the hours of research, and the quiet worry that you have missed something. What you are left with is a home that feels intentional, warm and unmistakably yours.

How we work with you

A home is a significant undertaking, and the process should feel calm rather than overwhelming. We guide each stage with clarity and care. We listen closely and present considered options. And we keep the bigger picture in view as we work through the many small decisions together. Whether you are building from the ground up, refining plans before construction, resolving the lighting, or bringing a finished house to life, our role is the same: to bring clarity and intention to your home, and to see it through with quiet precision.

The studio

Annika Nott is the founder and principal designer of ig. design & interiors. She works on every project herself, from the first conversation to the final styled shelf. The same person at the brief and at the handover, not a name on a proposal.

That is deliberate, and it is why the studio takes a small number of projects at a time. What holds a home together is one person carrying all of it in their head. That is difficult to hand on halfway through, so we don’t.

There are five ways to work together: consultancy, preconstruction planning, lighting design, finishing layers, and a complete end-to-end service. Each is shaped around where your project is, and how involved you would like us to be.
