Tips & Guides
A little clarity, before you begin.
Considered guidance to help you make calmer, clearer decisions about your home.
Every home involves hundreds of decisions, and it is easy to feel the weight of them all at once. This is where we share a little of how we think - practical guidance drawn from the studio’s work, written to bring the same clarity to your own project that we bring to our clients’ homes.
From getting a layout right before you build, to layering light so a room feels warm by evening, to knowing where to begin when a finished house still feels flat - these are the questions we are asked most often. Our guides set out how we would approach them.
The first guides are on their way
We are putting this library together with the same care we give everything else, so it is worth doing properly rather than quickly. The first guides will appear here soon. In the meantime, here is a sense of what is coming:
- Before you build - the questions worth answering on paper, before the first wall goes up.
- The order to make decisions in - why the sequence of choices matters as much as the choices themselves.
- Layering light - how to move a room beyond a single ceiling pendant, so it feels right morning to night.
- When a finished room still feels flat - the layers that turn a complete house into a home that feels resolved.
- Getting a layout right - how to test whether a space will really work before you commit to it.
These are indicative titles, offered as a placeholder - the finished guides will be shaped as the library grows.
In the meantime
If you have a question you would like answered now, rather than waiting for the guide, we are always happy to talk it through. A short call is often the quickest way to bring clarity to where you are.
Have a question in the meantime?
While the guides are being written, we are happy to help directly. Book a short introductory call to talk through where you are, or send us a few details by email.
