Lighting is the layer most often left to the electrician, and the one that most transforms how a home feels. Done well, it is barely noticed - rooms simply feel right, shifting from bright and practical by day to soft and layered by evening.
We design lighting as an integral part of each room: where light is needed, how it is layered, and the atmosphere it creates. Every plan is measured and coordinated so your electrician and contractor can install it accurately, with the design intent held intact from paper to ceiling.

Two ways to work
How we begin depends on where your project is. Whichever route suits you, the lighting is designed in direct response to a resolved layout.
Lighting Design
For projects where the layout and architecture are already resolved. We take the agreed arrangement as fixed and design the lighting to respond precisely to it, coordinating cleanly with your wider team. Best when your plans are settled, and you would like the lighting brought to life.
- Design coordination & layout review - a coordination step to ground the scheme in your confirmed layout, liaising with your designer or architect where involved.
- Lighting design - concept strategy, measured plans, circuits, switching logic, schedules and lighting-related socket plans for each room.
- Lighting specification - a full schedule with product references, quantities and positioning, so your electrician and contractor can procure and install accurately.
Lighting & Layout
For projects where the layout would benefit from a designer’s eye first. We review and enhance the arrangement of each room, then design the lighting in direct response to the layout we have agreed together. Best when your layout is not yet fixed, and you would like it resolved before the lighting is designed.
- Layout review & enhancement - a considered review of your existing plans with enhancements developed where beneficial, signed off before the lighting design begins.
- Lighting design - the full scheme - concept, measured plans, circuits, switching and schedules - designed in response to the agreed layout.
- Lighting specification - a complete specification for your electrician and contractor.
Good to know
Where a smart or automated system is installed, we design the scheme and work alongside your AV specialist, who handles its supply, programming and commissioning. Once opened up, individual fittings may need minor on-site adjustment to suit the ceiling construction - we liaise directly with your electrician to keep the design intent intact.
